Parents report Rush Brush has provided soothing for:

Sunburn
And when it comes to cleansing the face, parents report that Rush Brush:
Gently and easily removes sunscreen
Gently lifts dirt & messes for babies and kids without stripping the skin's natural oils
Gently lifts impurities and extra oil for tweens and teens, which can help keep the skin clear
Parents of tweens/teens report that Rush Brush has helped clear their skin and maintain clear skin without drying it out or without stripping their skin of the essential natural oils.
Yes, we do! Kids love superheroes and so do we; marshmallow is the superhero in rushbrush.
There can be so much going on on kids’ little faces: snot, drool, dirt, food, boo-boos, dirt (from playground to just touching your face, well, all the time:-), and messes (like pen marks!); you name it.
For tweens & teens the skin starts changing and producing extra oiliness.
Marshmallow root extract comes to the rescue with its instantly hydrating, soothing and anti-inflammatory properties.
We only use high-quality, clean, plant-based ingredients following a Scandinavian philosophy of “just enough.”
We avoid anything that only a chemist can translate.
Go to the Rush Brush product detail section for a list of all the ingredients.
Start by locking the Rush Brush (push down right below the brush-head). Then gently wipe the brush-head with a wet washcloth.
Avoid exposure to water in any other way.
Do not use in the shower or bath tub.
The oils in the Rush Brush repel bacteria, but water inherently attracts bacteria.
Let's keep your brush-head clean and clear!
The locking and unlocking mechanism is at the brush head. Push up towards the brush to open, push down to close.
- Unlock the tube before squeezing or giving it to your child to squeeze. Pull the brush-head cap UP. You will see a larger white gap emerge between the tube and the brush-head.
- After application, push the brush-head cap DOWN, to lock it. (Unless your child knows the “secret” locking mechanism, it’s hard to squeeze the balm out just for fun.)
- If you feel like nothing is coming out of the tube, check that it’s unlocked.
- Place the clear cap back on the locked brush-head after use.

This means that Rush Brush meets the Environmental Working Group’s strictest standards for your child’s health. This means it’s FREE from thousands of EWG VERIFIED’s ingredients of concern – including commonly used chemicals in kids skincare!
We only believe in cleansing kids’ faces when necessary - and only using the gentlest ingredients that don’t change the pH balance or strip the natural oils, and only lift the unwanted extras off of the skin.
Kids’ faces get dirty from everyday dirt & messes: food remnants, snot, drool, sweat, sunscreen, and just from fun outdoor play (which we advocate for!) and touching your face a lot.
None of it is bad - it’s good for kids to get dirty and build their microbiome - but these don’t easily wash off with water, and when left on the skin, they can lead to skin irritations.
For older kids, oily substance called sebum clogs pores; regularly lifting it off the skin without irritating the skin can keep the skin clean and clear.
Gentle oil-based face cleansers (like the multipurpose Rush Brush) lift dirt without stripping the natural barrier on the skin, keeping “baby/kid skin as pure as ever”.
Many face cleansers contain sulfates - a chemical that makes it foam or lather - which strip skin of its natural oils, putting the skin at risk of damage including dry flaky patches.
Oil-based cleanser helps to remove excess dirt and excess oils on the skin by gently blending with them, and easily removing them with a soft wash cloth or rinsing gently.
Rush Brush cleansing method:
apply on the face and wipe off with wet washcloth.
Oil-based cleansers like Rush Brush leave the skin moist and hydrated while keeping the natural barrier on the skin, leading to less dry skin.
When you use a foaming cleanser and get that “squeaky clean, dry face”, it tends to mean the skin was also stripped of its natural oils, the skin barrier, that protects the skin. They can also dry out the skin. We never recommend those for kids.
Oil cleansing method is gentle and soothing.
Skincare in kids supports their natural skin turnover (removes dead skin cells & any dirt build up) and nurtures healthy new skin.
When you start a new product, pay attention to how the skin on your child’s face looks and feels.
Kids' skin turns over in 14-28 days; taking longer the older they get, so you see the changes typically after a month of use.
Look for smooth, hydrated, non-irritated, not red skin & scalp with less irritations from daily dirt build-up than before, and from using the balm as a moisturizer whenever the skin feels dry or needs soothing.
Start teaching your child to cleanse their skin when you start teaching them to brush their teeth. Apply moisturizer on the clean face whenever it feels dry, irritated, red, or otherwise is in need of soothing.
The Rush Brush Kit comes with the Rush Brush tube, a soft bamboo washcloth, and a recycled star crayon you can use to do the activities on the back of the box.
Many kids don’t like to wash their face by immersing it in water and rubbing a cleanser off of their face; wiping the Rush Brush cleansing balm off the face with a wet washcloth does the job and does it better.
The oil-based balm bonds with any impurities and the wet wash cloth wipes it all off, without stripping the skin barrier and the natural oils, drying the skin, or changing the skin’s pH balance.
You don’t need to wash the wash cloth every day - oil-based formulas repel bacteria - but throw it in the wash & dryer when you do your child’s laundry.
You can use the Rush Brush anytime.
Easiest way to get started is to make it part of the evening cleaning-up routine.
We do the Rush Brush, Step #1 (paint on, wipe off with wet wash cloth) and Step #2 (paint on and leave on) after brushing the teeth.
We also use the Rush Brush as a soothing moisturizer in the morning, after school/ camp and on the go and especially when the skin is irritated!
No! Please don’t immerse or expose the Rush Brush in water - except wiping it clean with a wet washcloth. The oil-based formula repels bacteria; water in general attracts it.
